An attorney experienced in the handling reckless driving and speeding ticket cases in Hanover County’s Traffic Court is your best bet in handling your ticket. Plus you normally will not have to appear in court, saving yourself a day of missing work or school.

The best reason to hire an attorney for your Reckless Driving/Speeding ticket in Hanover County is because the attorney understands what the Court is willing to consider as a fair disposition and stands the best chance in receiving any reduction of your traffic charge. Also, in most cases, the client does not have to be present in court if he/she hires an attorney.

Police officers and Commonwealth Attorneys in Hanover County Traffic Court do not negotiate directly with Defendants. Every court is different and wants to hear different facts in making their decisions. Your Attorney must be familiar with this jurisdiction and highlight the strengths of your case based on the presiding judge.

If the client has a Virginia driver’s license, the judge does not require the client to produce the client’s driving record on his/her court date. The police officer will have a copy of the Virginia driving record on the court date. If the client hires an attorney, and the client has an out-of-state license, the client must send a copy of his/her state’s driving record to our office so that we can produce that record to the judge. The client must produce at least a 5 year UNCERTIFIED driving record. If you have an option of getting a driving record which is longer than 5 years, we recommend getting the shortest record that goes back at least 5 years. Also, if the client has had a driver’s license in more than one state in the last 5 years, the client should secure all of his driving records within 5 years. The judge will not accept any driving history less than 5 years old (unless the the client has been driving for less than 5 years).

Speeding, Reckless Driving, and DUI citations are all serious matters in Hanover County so you should always discuss your options with an attorney. Take advantage of some free advice, and call our office for a consultation today at 804-554-4444.

Sometimes the judge may require the client to attend driving school as part of the disposition in the case. Driving School can be completed online (such sites include www.idrivesafely.com) in the comfort of the client’s home and does not need to be attended in person.

Christina Pendleton & Associates is built on four simple principles:

1. Being honest with our clients in the assessment of their case based on our handling of 1000’s of traffic cases: Our experience has shown that too many attorneys will tell clients what they want to hear regardless of the reality of their situation. Christina will tell you the truth about your case based on handling hundreds of cases similar to yours. Sometimes an attorney cannot help you. When that is the case, we will tell you without taking your money for a court appearance.

2. Make hiring the firm a very simple process: Just call 804-554-4444 and one of our friendly staff will walk you through the process and make it as simple as possible.

3. Developing  experience and working relationships with the people that matter in order to secure the best disposition possible for our clients: there are very few “simple” traffic cases. Sometimes you may be an out-of-state driver, you may have a commercial’s driver’s license, or possibly have prior traffic violations. All of these things serve as moving parts which must be considered in the disposition of your case and requires someone with experience handling reckless driving, speeding, and DUI cases in Hanover County.

4. Provide quality legal representation at affordable prices: We believe every person has the right to legal representation. This is why we provide free consultations to explain your rights and why we strive to keep our fees very competitive.
